How we select the right pump
There is no universally 'best' pump — only the right pump for a specific well. Before quoting, we establish the values that govern the selection; without them any recommendation is an expensive guess.
- Well depth and water level: The static level before operation and the dynamic level during drawdown, which together define the real head the pump must deliver.
- Required flow: The hourly volume the application actually needs — a home, a farm or an industrial facility. Oversizing depletes the well and inflates the electricity bill.
- Borehole diameter and casing: This caps the outside diameter of the pump and motor that can safely be lowered into the well.
- Water quality and sand content: Sandy or highly saline water dictates different materials and staging. Ignoring it is the number one cause of premature stage wear.
- Power supply: Single or three phase, the voltage available on site and how stable it is — which in turn determines the control panel and protections required.

What installation actually involves
Supply alone is not enough. Correct installation is what turns a good pump into a working system, and for us it covers work that cannot be skipped.
- Riser pipe and cable: Selecting pipe size and a submersible cable of adequate cross-section for the setting depth, with the cable clamped along the column so it cannot chafe against the casing.
- Control panel and protections: Dry-run, under/over-voltage and overload protection — the safeguards that prevent the most common causes of motor burnout.
- Setting depth: Lowering the pump deep enough to stay permanently submerged while keeping it clear of the well bottom and its sediment.
- Commissioning and measurement: Measuring current, voltage and flow after start-up, and handing the readings to the client as a baseline against which any future fault can be judged.
What drives the cost
The pump price alone is not the project cost. The factors that matter are: pump capacity, brand and country of origin; setting depth, which determines the quantity of pipe and cable; the control panel and protections specified; the condition of the well and whether it needs cleaning or development first; and the site location and access distance.
